Last Saturday I went to a show in LaPorte. When it came time to bring dutch up, I took my rabbits to the table. At first, all seemed normal with the judge...he gave the rabbits the comments that I was expecting. But when I brought my gray junior buck up, he DQ'd it before even looking at the rabbit! He said the rabbit had a spot on his side. If he had actually looked, he would have seen that the "spot" connected to the rest of the white on his body and was NOT actually a spot, but a horrible drag. I let it go. Then I brought up a gray dutch doe who I knew was disqualified for a tiny white spot on her ear. The judge placed her SECOND out of FOUR! He completely missed the spot. I let that one go too, as the gray variety tends to have a white lacing around the ears and he could've mistaken it for that. When mini rex got called up, I went to start getting my chocolate buck ready. A friend had his castor doe right next to me, and asked me to look at it. She had a humongous black spot on her belly. This is a disqualification and this one was very obvious. The judge gave the rabbit a second out of like 6 castor does! Now I'm wondering how many other breeders have had to watch a judge DQ a rabbit when it shouldn't be or keep a rabbit on the table when it should've been disqualified. This poll will run for 14 days--please take a minute to answer it:) Thanks,
Lauryn
